Mid-Year Audit: 30 Minutes That Will Save Your Q3

June 29, 2026

We are halfway through 2026. That tends to land like a small gut punch, so let me just say it plainly: 6 months are gone, and you are probably more tired now than you were in January.

That is not a motivation problem. You did not get lazy. The systems you built when the year started quietly stopped fitting, and nobody put a meeting on your calendar to tell you.

The problem is not the work. The problem is that "good enough" expired.

Back in January, your setup worked. The tool stack made sense. The handoffs were clear enough. The way you ran your week matched the amount of work on your plate.

Then the year happened. You added clients. You added a person, or you lost one. A "temporary" workaround became the permanent way you do a thing. Every one of those changes was small enough to ignore in the moment.

6 months of small, ignored changes is exactly how you end up exhausted with nothing specific to point at. This audit is how you find the things to point at.

The 30-minute mid-year audit.

Block 30 minutes. Close Slack. Open a blank doc and answer 5 questions, fast and honest. Do not fix anything yet. Right now you are just finding the leaks.

1. What am I still doing by hand that I swore I would fix? The report you rebuild from scratch every week. The invoice you copy and paste. The Monday thing that eats 30 minutes and always will until someone stops it.

2. What lives only in my head? The process nobody else knows. The client detail only you can access. If you caught the flu next Tuesday, what breaks, and who panics?

3. What am I paying for and barely using? Pull up your subscriptions. I promise there are at least 2 tools on there you are funding and ignoring, and 1 you forgot existed.

4. What meeting or check-in no longer earns its spot? The recurring sync that made sense 4 months ago and now runs on autopilot while everyone half-listens.

5. What did I say yes to in Q1 that I would not say yes to today? Be honest. Some of your exhaustion is a commitment you have outgrown but never canceled.

Now circle the 3 that sting the most.

You will not fix all 5 this week, and you should not try. Pick the 3 answers that made you wince, because the wince is the signal. That is where the time is actually leaking.

Most people do this audit, feel a jolt of clarity, and then do nothing, because the fix feels like a project they do not have time to start. That is the trap. The answer is not to overhaul everything. The answer is to fix 1 thing well, then the next.

Why 30 minutes in June beats a scramble in September.

Here is the math nobody runs. The thing leaking 3 hours a week in June is leaking 3 hours a week in July, August, and September too. Ignore it now and you do not save time, you just pay for it 13 more weeks before Q4 forces your hand.

Catching it today is the cheapest this fix will ever be. Q3 is the quietest runway you are going to get before the year-end rush, and a problem named in June is a problem you fix on your terms instead of in a panic.

When you want someone to actually fix one of them.

Spotting that something is off is the easy part. Working out which thing is actually load-bearing, while you are still running the business every day, is where people get stuck. That is the part I am good at.

The Operations Audit is where I go through your business the way a real customer does, then hand you every leak I found, ranked by what is costing you most. Not a self-assessment. Me, inside your systems, telling you the truth.

$597. You get the full list and a call to walk through it. If you want me to fix what I find, that gets quoted separately.
