The 4 Things I'd Automate in Your Business First

August 17, 2026

Say I show up at your door tomorrow with a coffee and 1 hour. I do not touch your website. I do not build you a slick dashboard. I do not sign you up for 1 more tool with a monthly fee you will forget to cancel.

I go straight for the boring stuff. The 4 tasks you repeat so often you have stopped noticing them, the ones quietly eating 6 hours of your week while you are busy chasing the big shiny fix.

Here is the part nobody leads with. The shiny new tool is not the problem. The 4 quiet, repeating chores you do by hand every single week are the problem. Nobody automates those first, because they are boring. That is exactly why they are still on your plate.

So here they are, in the order I would actually work in. Not the order that sounds impressive. The order that gives you your week back fastest.

1. Your inbox, before it eats the morning.

This is number 1 for a reason. It is the task that runs every day, starts the earliest, and sets the tone for whether you feel on top of things or 3 steps behind by 9am.

You do not need a robot answering your clients. You need the sorting and the first drafts done before you sit down. What actually needs you, pulled to the top. The 15 messages that are just noise wearing an urgent hat, handled or held. The reply you have typed a hundred versions of, drafted and waiting for your 10-second edit.

I wrote the whole playbook for this one in Your Inbox Is Not Your Job. Start here. Everything else is easier once your morning is not on fire.

2. The part of onboarding you have done 40 times.

A new client says yes. That should be the fun part. Instead you lose 2 hours sending the same welcome email, the same intake form, the same folder links you have sent 40 times before.

The yes should trigger all of it before you even open your laptop. Welcome note out. Intake form sent. Folders made. Kickoff call on the calendar. You show up to a client who already feels taken care of, and you did not lift a finger to make it happen.

The full walkthrough is in The Client Onboarding That Runs Without You Touching It. This is the one that makes you look the most put-together for the least effort.

3. Turning 1 thing you wrote into a week of content.

You do not have a "post more" problem. You have a "1 good idea dies in 1 place" problem. You write something solid, put it out once, and let it disappear instead of squeezing a full week of content out of it.

Hand 1 blog post or 1 long caption to AI and let it do the chopping. A week of shorter posts, a few emails, the pieces for wherever you show up. You wrote it once, on purpose, when you had the thought. The rest is just reshaping, and that is not a job you should be doing by hand at 11pm.

I broke down exactly how in Write It Once. Show Up Everywhere.

4. The spreadsheet shuffle you save for 9pm.

I told you last week this one was on the list. Here it is, at number 4. Not because it does not matter, but because it does not run daily the way your inbox does, so it is not where you start.

Cleaning up messy names. Matching 2 lists to find who fell through. Reconciling the tracker against the tool that never talks to it. It is the mind-numbing shuffle-and-match work, and it is exactly what AI is good at now. The full how-to is in The Spreadsheet Work You Should Never Do By Hand Again.

Why the order actually matters.

You do not start with the hardest one or the most impressive one. You start with the one that hits every single day and takes the least to set up. That is the inbox. Every day it runs, it pays you back, and it makes you feel like the person who has it handled instead of the person drowning.

Then you work down the list as each one earns you back the time to set up the next. That is the whole trick. Not 1 giant system you build in a weekend and abandon. 4 boring tasks, handed off 1 at a time, in the order that compounds.

Where to start this week.

Pick number 1. Just the inbox. Open your AI tool tomorrow morning and let it sort and draft before you touch a thing. Feel how different the day starts when you are not 3 steps behind by breakfast.

That 1 change buys you back the time to tackle number 2. And that is how the whole list gets done. Not all at once. One quiet chore at a time, off your plate for good.

If you want the fast version, that is what the AI Power Hour is for. In 60 minutes I sit down with your actual business and we do this exact list together, in order, with the specific tools and the specific prompts built around how you actually work. You leave with number 1 already running and a clear map for the rest. $197.

Next week we step out of the AI lane for a minute. September through December is when the cracks in your systems become the reason you are underwater, and the last slow week of August is when you fix them. See you then.
